5 Eliza

A new Sunday evening concert series and continuation of popular classes.

5 Eliza is the Newtown School of Arts. Once home to an extensive library, recreation rooms and lecture hall, it was the heart of the neighbourhood. Four artists continue to enjoy the quiet and amenity of three studios which have been at the heart of the building for over 30 years. We are also now pleased to host the HQ of the Sydney Fringe Festival in a large downstairs office. From here they are planning the next festival for September 2015.

Keep a look out for the 2015 program from Archive_ . Open Thursday and Friday 2-6pm & Saturday 10-4pm.   A new initiative called Dark_ (a second gallery behind Archive_) will be ramping up in 2015. Check their website for more details as they may be taking a break over the summer – www.archivespace.com.au.

The upstairs ballroom hosts a range of classes or practices over the week, including Contact Improvisation, Pancha Tan Mantra, West African Traditional dance, Dancing Freedom, Soul Motion Conscious Dance and Radiance Dance 5 Rhythms.

SPECIAL NOTE: No new bookings are being taken for the ballroom.
