Newtown Good Food Fair 2017 was the biggest and best to date with over 11,000 people sampling the best food and drinks Newtown has to offer from 30 of our local businesses. These were
Gurdy’s – Holey Moley – Cairo Takeaway – Gelato Messina – Bovine and Swine – Hakiki Turkish Ice Cream – Suzy Spoons Vegetarian Butcher – Black Star Pastry – Acre Eatery – Stinking Bishops – Russo and Russo – The Marlborough Hotel – Lidz Caps – Young Henrys – Salmon and Bear – The Courthouse Hotel – Rising Sun Workshop – The Newtown Hotel – Epic Pizza – Mary’s – The Bank Hotel – Milkbar – Queens Hotel – Lat Dior African Eatery – Bloodwood – The Erskineville Hotel – Chrissy’s Cuts – Beach Burrito – The Courthouse Hotel and Roar Brewing
This year saw a few more attractions added to the line up with the Waywards Stage hosting local muso’s, a live art tent featuring Damon Art Studio, a petting zoo for the kids, the Young Henry’s siesta lounge and the Holey Moley putt putt hole. The result was more people attending the fair and staying for longer on the day.
Our visitor survey indicated that 56% of the 11,000 attendees were from suburbs outside of our local area (Newtown, Enmore, Erskineville & Camperdown), showing that our fair pulls in a great crowd of new visitors to the precinct. An even better finding in the survey was that all 56% of those ‘out of town’ visitors were also visiting other businesses in the area before leaving.
Our stall holder survey had a 100% satisfaction result with all our local businesses claiming the day as a success and providing some great feedback on how to make next year even bigger.
