Newtown Good Food Fair 2016 – Details Announced

Newtown Good Food Fair takes over Eliza Street in October

Once again the Newtown Precinct Business Association (NBPA) will hold the Newtown Good Food Fair on 9 October as part of Good Food Month.

Now in its fourth year, the Newtown Good Food Fair will return to Newtown Square, and close down Eliza Street to create a street party for the community and visitors. The NPBA are expecting over 30 stallholders who will serve up the suburb’s best food and drink offering to an expected 5,000 strong crowd.

In 2016, NPBA event organizer Liz Dickson said Eliza Street was chosen due to its close proximity to the train station and Newtown Square, and will allow the event to grow.

“We’re excited to be taking over Eliza Street this year, especially as the main feedback we’ve received about the event is the need for more space,” says Ms Dickson.

Ms Dickson explained the Newtown was one of Sydney’s prime food destinations attracting both local and international attention.

“The food fair allows not only our high profile members, but also new or up-and-coming venues to tap into Newtown’s reputation for great food,” says Ms Dickson

The Good Food Fair showcases Newtown’s food and drinks offering with the Bank Hotel, Black Star Pastry, Bloodwood, Brewtown, Marys, Shenkin Café and Young Henry’s just a few of the businesses who have already signed up for the day.

In another new addition for 2016, organisers have added a talks program with two sessions to be held in the level 1 theatre at 5 Eliza St. Entry for each session is $10 and tickets can be purchased through the links below.
