New Theatre is the oldest theatre company in continuous production in New South Wales. New Theatre membership includes many experienced industry professionals as well as newcomers to theatre and part of its brief is to foster new and emerging talents.

New Theatre is committed to presenting theatre of the highest quality while holding firm to its history as a socially and politically aware organisation. Productions cover classic plays and new works (both Australian and international) across a range of styles including drama, comedy and music theatre.

New Theatre was formed under the banner of 'Art is a Weapon' in 1932 and will be celebrating its 75th year in 2007.
